News Time

It has been a bit strange recently.  First of all it went really quiet on the audition front.  As I am just about to become 15 years old, some people in the know say it is quite usual for it to go quiet until I get out of licensing age at 16.  The  theory being that you can get 16 year olds that look 14 and 15 and you don’t have to get a licence for them.  I decided to concentrate on my writing and I am putting a script together for a serious short film. Then suddenly, there was...

WHAT’S BEEN GOING ON?

The Summer holidays are nearly over but I crammed a lot in and it has gone very quickly.  I recorded a part in another radio play for the BBC called Black Dog and I performed a small role in the American T.V. series, The Royals, just recently. It was great fun and the set was stunning. I also submitted one of my own short films to an American film festival.  I did everything in it.  I acted both parts and scripted, filmed and edited it.  I was hoping for a recognition in the production.  However, I was delighted to get...

GIFA AWARDS

The Global International Film Awards run competitions for new film makers and they have a section for under 18 years old to send in their entries   I sent in a short film I made myself . There are many categories  and I was delighted to get a nomination in the under 18, Best Actor section.  I have had a nomination before for my interview/documentary style film where I interviewed Matthew Modine about smoking.  I am going to send another film in soon and maybe third time lucky, I will get an award, fingers crossed.

DEREK vs DEREK

DEREK vs DEREK

Derek vs Derek is a short film by Sebastian Barner-Rasmussen.  I was introduced to Sebastian by Edward Hemming. I did a short film with him when I was younger.  Derek vs Derek is a thought provoking film. Have a look at the trailer here:- http://www.barnerrasmussen.com/ It has been selected at various film festivals including:- Thurrock International Film Festival, UK Portugal Baja , California Greece

YESTERDAY, EARLY ONE MORNING

I went to BBC Broadcasting House yesterday to record a new drama.  I met up with a few people I had worked with before which was nice and I met academy award winning actress Juliet Aubrey.  She has just finished a film alongside Bryan Cranston.  I have just finished watching ‘Breaking Bad’ and I was interested to know what he was like, she said ‘he was really nice’. Juliet played my  adoptive mum in the drama and we had a good laugh.

THE OUTCAST

If you missed ‘The Outcast last night’, you can catch up on BBCiplayer:- http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b062vqcx/the-outcast-episode-1 I play Ed Rawlings as a child.  He is not a very nice child and a bit of a bully.  Finn Elliot played Lewis and he was brilliant.  I made a  short film whilst we were taking our breaks and this is Finn and me discussing the plot line, with Aran to the right.  I will release it later.   We had a great time and we all got on really well.   In the next picture, from left to right is:- Sophie, Aran, me with...

Film Review – Jurassic World

Film Review – Jurassic World

*MINOR PLOT SPOILERS* Dinosaurs. That’s what you expect when watching a film in the Jurassic Park series, and Jurassic World certainly doesn’t pull any punches on that front. Given that the blockbuster is set in a ‘Prehistoric-style Disneyland’, the film starts all sweetness and light, with the generic Starbucks and doughnut stalls; we are soon introduced to the scary risks of the park. The acting is believable, with Chris Pratt giving a dramatic, funny and sincere performance, like in Guardians of the Galaxy. There is a comedic theme that runs through the whole film, providing many laughs, and also jump scares...
