BACKING INDEPENDENT FILMS

Straight off the back of a successful outing at Cannes, Tooth Fairy had a screening last night at the BFI.  It is the first time I have seen the completed film although it was a long time in the making.  Thwarted by funding being withdrawn and having to start all over again.  The funding received was well spent for the special effects which were brilliant.  The production values were impressive.  I was very happy with the result.  I had the chance to talk with lots of people who were generous with their advice and made some contacts.  A productive evening all around.  Congratulations to Owyn Stephens, writer, actor, director and  Shaheen Schleifer,  producer.

Upon reading the credits for Tooth Fairy, I noticed a couple of familiar names and was delighted to meet John Frewin, at the event,  who was also kind enough to back our short film Reminiscence which is getting an airing at The Cardiff Mini Film Festival on the 24th June.  We have had a number of screenings at film festivals for Reminiscence but this is the first one we have been able to go to as the others have been abroad.  It will be good to see it on the big screen!

If it wasn’t for people like John and our other backers, we would not have been able to make Reminiscence. So here’s a big THANK YOU to all the people who back independent film makers.
